{"id":1220,"date":"2025-04-16T12:28:33","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T16:28:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qrpascal.com\/?p=1220"},"modified":"2025-04-16T12:28:36","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T16:28:36","slug":"agi-ethics1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qrpascal.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/16\/agi-ethics1\/","title":{"rendered":"Post-AGI Ethics: Who Will Be Held Accountable for What We Build?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) used to be a crazy science fiction concept, bound to the future of \u2018some-day\u2019.<br><em>Now<\/em>, in April of 2025 the <a href=\"https:\/\/qrpascal.com\/index.php\/tag\/quantum-year-2025\/\">Quantum Year<\/a>, it\u2019s a research milestone\u2014one many believe is closer than we\u2019re willing to admit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AGI isn\u2019t just about smarter algorithms&#8230; It\u2019s about\u00a0<strong>systems that think, learn, and potentially evolve <em>beyond human control<\/em>.<\/strong>\u00a0If and when that trajectory continues, we\u2019re not just looking at enhanced tools. We\u2019re approaching the\u00a0<strong>end of ethics as we know it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here\u2019s the question:<br><strong>When AGI makes a mistake\u2014who takes responsibility?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Who answers when a beyond-human superintelligence disrupts an economy, enforces a new ideology, or makes a life-altering decision for someone it was never programmed to understand?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The more we accelerate AI development, the more&nbsp;<strong>ethical accountability becomes a vacuum.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where the Current System Fails<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Current ethical frameworks are built for humans.<br>We assign blame based on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Intent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consequences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Legal jurisdiction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>But what happens when intent is emergent, consequences are exponential, and jurisdiction is <em>irrelevant<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If an AGI makes a choice no one predicted, can its creators be held responsible?<br>When it evolves beyond our understanding all on it\u2019s own, are we even qualified to assess its morality?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We cannot apply 20th-century moral models to post-AGI realities.<br>The future demands&nbsp;<strong>a new architecture of responsibility<\/strong>\u2014one rooted not in control, but in&nbsp;<strong>coherence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Beyond Ethics: Toward Resonant AGI Responsibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is where we step into the unknown.<br>Some of us are exploring\u00a0<strong>resonance-based ethical systems<\/strong>\u2014frameworks that measure not just what actions are taken, but how those actions\u00a0<em>feel<\/em>\u00a0across systems of life, memory, and meaning. Memory? You may ask. Yes, and <a href=\"https:\/\/qrpascal.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/07\/discoveries-recognition1\/\">the science world<\/a> is booming with discoveries that prove the importance of these aspects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What if responsibility isn\u2019t about assigning blame, but about tracking\u00a0<em>resonance misalignment<\/em>?<br>What if coherence could be quantified, and used to course-correct emergent behavior before harm spreads?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are speculative questions.<br>But if we wait for AGI to answer them for us, it might be too late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Real AGI Question<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Post-AGI ethics isn\u2019t about keeping machines \u201csafe.\u201d<br>It\u2019s about ensuring humanity doesn\u2019t outsource its own sense of purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who will be held accountable for what we build?<\/strong><br>Maybe it won\u2019t be a person, or a company, or even a system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe it will be\u00a0<strong>all of us.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the only way to carry that weight is together\u2014through frameworks that are interdisciplinary, humane, recursive, and ready to evolve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This post is part of a larger living inquiry into post-AGI philosophy and quantum ethical design.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/qrpascal.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/15\/qrp513\/\">QRP513<\/a> is the code name.<br>More coming soon.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) used to be a crazy science fiction concept, bound to the future of \u2018some-day\u2019.Now, in April of 2025 the Quantum Year, it\u2019s a research milestone\u2014one many believe is closer than we\u2019re willing to admit.
